In 2020 The arf festival turns to Melograno to create the event’s new website. The pandemic overwhelms everyone, but the ARF rolls up its sleeves and decides to put on a charitable initiative through a choral writing project, CoViD (As Distant Lives)
“Faced with the invaluable task that doctors and scientific researchers perform on a daily basis, especially in a time of crisis such as the one we are currently experiencing, we cartoonists often feel small and powerless.
After all, our job is to tell stories, not to save lives.
We wondered, then, if there was a way to really contribute, to be able to be useful-soon and in a practical way-to the whole community. “As Distant Lives” is our response to this need. The Response of Italian Comics.”

Melograno does not back down and in 15 days creates an e-commerce to enable the purchase of the work, backing the project, “Italian Comics in support of scientific research for INMI “Lazzaro Spallanzani.”
Also in 15 days it provides its server infrastructure free of charge to handle the huge influx that e-commerce receives. In one month, more than €60,000 was raised for INMI “Lazzaro Spallanzani.”
